here are some more photographs.

this is phil. he is playing an accordion. i printed this on 11x14 today, it was my first big print. this is not the big one.

these are twelve prints that i passed in as my photo portfolio last semester. they're 4x6 inches. i put them in a cashmere-lined white box. the dust spots are from my scanner, not on the prints. i'm too lazy to photoshop them out and fix the contrast so it looks more like the prints, which are better in real life. this also applies to the picture of phillip.

also, chanel spring 2010 haute couture LOVE.

and the galliano love continues, of course. i've never really paid attention to menswear, but really, who but galliano would put men in corsets?

reminder to myself and some other things.

i want to make shoes out of laminated cardboard. maybe recreate the mcqueen lobster claw shoes (as worn during the "walk, walk, fashion, baby" segment of bad romance, for those who aren't necessarily in love with mcqueen as i am, or at least something like them. and encrust them with mirrors or broken cups and saucers or something.

i also have a crush on richard avedon. he had cool glasses and took nice pictures of ladies in dresses and american people. i guess he also liked to jump around a lot, which makes me think he would have been a fun guy. he made this commercial for a fabric company and he gets all happy and runs and hugs the model and it is adorable.

it confuses me because on lost there is a character named richard alpert and one named matthew abadon and i mix them up and wonder why they named the immortal guy after a photographer, because philosophers are more their usual style. i am so excited for lost to start. it is bound to be either the most mindblowing or least satisfying final season of a show ever. likely the latter.

we made an installation in the lobby of the fine arts building last night. putting it together was lots of fun, and i'm pretty sure that it's the most invasive thing shown in that space for a long time, if not ever. it's like a huge blanket fort filled with everything. i put some lingerie on the walls and creepy dolls and lady gaga and fabric puffs sewn to the rust-coloured chair. there are marshmallows and crackers hanging from the ceiling and paper craneodactyls that say awkward things to each other and a huge sign that says TOUCH HIS LEG.

midnight fire drills in the rain do not make me happy.

i want a boy who will wear dress shirts tucked in with a nice belt and shoes as an everyday thing, and be able to pull it off. he will like fashion and musical theatre and preferably sing to me. he will like girls. this is a hard boy to find.

um, lately.

i've been working a lot on the costumes for millie. the show is at the end of the month.

in my theatre class this semester, we're doing a play called "the gut girls". it's about victorian women working in a slaughterhouse. should be interesting, costume and set-wise.

i keep thinking about things to make for the fashion show i've signed up for, in march. but not actually making anything.

the other day, i made myself up all gaga-style for a self portrait for photo class. the results may be shown here eventually.

i never really got good photos of my wooden sculpture project, which is why i never posted it. but it's here anyway. edit: i guess i did, here it is in case you missed it the first time.

i've always loved oxidized copper.

and i've been into nail polish.

the day before new year's eve, i was bored and decided to cover my left-hand fingernails with the foil of a toblerone bar i had just finished. there was no way i could have done that to my right hand as well, so i mixed up my clear polish with some gold ink and golded my right hand. i decided then that i wanted to wear gold and silver nails every day.

since that process was much too fiddly and wore off easily, i slapped on a few coats of this green nail polish that struck me, and i had to have it. sadly, it has been chipping off quite easily.

i went to the store to find gold and silver polish. i found silver, but no gold. i settled for a nice copper.

i looked down at my chipping green nails. i patched them up with the copper.

and i just wrote an entire post about my fingernails.

i'm almost finished "queer as folk".

damn fictional gay men. why can't real-life straight ones be half as adorable?
